Boston Scoliosis Night Brace

Our experience and knowledge have taught us that not all patients will be suitable for the Original Boston Scoliosis Brace. For some patients with smaller magnitude curves and perhaps a dramatic physical or psychological reaction to wearing a full time brace, there is a need to have an alternative orthosis to offer. For this reason, the Boston Scoliosis Night Brace was developed. It is designed to be worn only at night (during sleep). It is moulded to conform to the patient's body while they are bent towards the convexity of the curve, thus 'over-correcting' the curve during the eight hours it is worn. The objective of the Night Brace is to biomechanically correct the Scoliosis by stabilizing, lateral shift and unbending forces.

Recommended Range Of Application:

This product is intended for the treatment of Idiopathic Scoliosis according to the following guidelines; Small curve magnitude: Approximately 25° – 45° Cobb angle; Skeletally immature (Riser 0-3); Curve Apex up to approximately Th9 maximum; Double curves can be treated but require a higher level of expertise. The important element of treating double curves is the ability to identify the primary and secondary curves. When treating a double curve, the primary should be the thoracic curve. Measurement:

Patient measurements should be accurately taken and recorded on our Night Brace Measurement form together with a patient x-rays in order to complete the brace design and manufacture. The Night Brace has additional key features which will increase patient comfort and adjustability: Additional layers of inner foam liner; Removable internal lining that can easily be removed for cleaning and adjustment; Internal foam liner overhangs the external plastic shell to eliminate edge pressure normally found in other braces; Hypo-allergenic; A wide range of colour / patterns are available - see "download center" on our website for available options.
